Trujillo was the favorite daughter of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina, who ruled the Dominican Republic from 1930 to 1961.
Angelita Trujillo, the daughter of Dominican dictator Rafael Leónidas Trujillo Molina, died at the age of 84 in Miami on August 21, 2023. Trujillo was a writer and former director of the Dominican Center for Export Promotion. She was the favorite daughter of Trujillo Molina, who ruled the Dominican Republic from 1930 to 1961.
Trujillo was born in Paris, France, on June 10, 1939. Her mother was Trujillo Molina's third wife, Maria Martínez Alba. Trujillo had a privileged upbringing and was educated in the Dominican Republic and Europe. She married Luis José León Estévez in 1960, and they had three children together.
After her father's assassination in 1961, Trujillo and her family went into exile in Spain. She later returned to the Dominican Republic and worked as a writer and journalist. In 1995, she was appointed director of the Dominican Center for Export Promotion.
