NHL Standings and Rankings

Regular Season Standings

The National Hockey League (NHL) is divided into two conferences: the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Each conference is further divided into two divisions: the Metropolitan Division and the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference, and the Central Division and the Pacific Division in the Western Conference.

The regular season standings are determined by the number of points each team earns. Teams earn two points for a regulation win, one point for an overtime or shootout win, and no points for a regulation loss or overtime/shootout loss.

Playoff Standings

The top eight teams from each conference qualify for the playoffs. The top three teams from each division automatically qualify for the playoffs, while the remaining five teams from each conference compete in a wild-card round to determine the final two playoff spots.

The playoffs are a single-elimination tournament. The first round is the best-of-seven series, the second round is the best-of-seven series, and the third round is the best-of-seven series. The Stanley Cup Finals is the best-of-seven series between the Eastern Conference champion and the Western Conference champion.

Current Standings

The current NHL standings can be found on the NHL website. The website provides standings for both the regular season and the playoffs.
